Despite huge research on cancer during last five decades, a lacunae in patient care still exists, especially in aspects of quality of life of patients. Reason being, the side effects of ‘one-size-fits-all’ strategy of available cancer therapeutics. Recently, it is emerged that cancer outcome in patients are not uniform and different patients of a particular cancer type have different molecular events responsible for these varied consequences. The term 'personalized therapeutics' or 'precision medicine' evidently categorizes patients according to their genotype-phenotype profiles that dictates individual treatment options. We are engaged in applying available data science methods on cancer data sets of gene expression, methylation, mutation, genetic variations and non-coding RNAs, which are previously published or newly generated by us. Our group is doing all this to deduce better diagnostics and therapeutics for cancer.
